of the Lord is, there is freedom.
And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the
glory of the Lord, are being transformed
into the same image from one degree of glory
to another. For this comes from the Lord
who is the Spirit.
2 Corinthians 3:17-18
The Edifying Ministry (EDF) devises intentional strategies and plans programs to provide venues where church members and attendees can experience constant renewal and life transformation and be guided towards Christlikeness by establishing them in their faith, developing them into maturity, and providing counseling as needed.
Scripture references:
Romans 12:1-2; 2 Corinthians 3:17-18; Ephesians 4:11-16; Colossians 2:6-7; 1 John 3:2-3
The Edifying Ministry is composed of (1) Edifying groups that desire to minister to varied age groups according to their interest, status and even their particular seasons in life for discipleship, accountability and fellowship towards wholistic transformation; (2) Crossroad Weekends where each delegate encounters God, discovers what He is doing in their lives and makes a decision to follow God with people being accountable towards each other for their commitment releases unto God; and (3) Pastoral care and counselling programs where the pastoral needs of the church are met by our ministries of mercy and encouragement.
Edifying
Groups
The older adults group, ages 60 and above, comprise the Seasoned Citizens. The Peculiar Men and Women’s ministries cater to the discipleship of men and women ages 20 and above through gender-specific groups. The Couples Who Care ministrybrings together the married and soon-to-be married men and women of the church. The Family Builders tie all the efforts of these edifying groups together with that of the youth and children’s ministries because we affirm God’s design for the family that it is the primary venue of and for discipleship, and that intergenerational discipleship is to be an integral part of church life.
Crossroad
Weekends
An essential aspect in our discipleship process is our Crossroad Weekend (CRW). Our Crossroad Weekend is an intentional venue where men, women, or couples are gathered one weekend without any agenda except to experience the power of God’s presence. It is not a retreat. It is literally a crossroad weekend because it happens on a weekend. It is a Crossroad because people are given a chance to reflect on what is happening in their lives, discover what God is doing, and decide to follow God’s way.
Pastoral Care
& Counselling
This program includes: Celebrate Recovery (a biblical and balanced program that helps us overcome our hurts, hang-ups, and habits through the power of the Lord Jesus Christ), CARES, GriefShare (a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences), LIFT (Loving Individuals in Final Transition), Visitation, and Necrological Services where the pastoral needs of the church are met by our ministries of mercy and encouragement.
